Aha! You found me. Laurie McLean, author of romance, fantasy and science fiction for adults and teens. With three novels under my belt, and Elizabeth Pomada of Larsen Pomada Literary Agents representing me, I'm up and running!

What am I working on now? I'm polishing an urban fantasy called WISH CRAFT. Set in near-future San Francisco, a string-theory lab experiment gone wrong has ripped a hole in the membrane of our universe and allowed demons from the void between universes to flood into San Francisco. These creatures assumed unnaturally beautiful, super strong humanoid shapes, and were differentiated from humans only by their all-black eyes and their aversion to sunlight. A terrible three-year Demon War ensued, and a truce was achieved only when scientists found a way to close the Demon Gate permanently. The Demon Master offered a host of technologies to surmount the humans' oil-based energy crisis in exchange for allowing the demons already here to stay in an underground complex they had built called LAIR--co-existing with the humans above. Our government agreed to close the Demon Gate temporarily, but not permanently, as long as the demons never harm humans. The human Black Guardian force was created to monitor the peace and arrest any demons who break the truce. Wish Craft begins thirteen years later. The truce is on the verge of collapsing when it is discovered that the demons may be in league with terrorists. For what purpose? Well, that's for JJ and her Bravo Squad to find out.

I'm also in the planning stages for a contemporary romantic comedy about a restaurant in a small mountain town.  Lots of fodder collected in the 90's when I was the owner of The Merry Prankster Cafe in La Honda, CA.
